JcamThanx to User:Sam Spade for welcoming me to Wikipedia. If you've come here because you notice strange things at or around American football strategy, it's not vandalism. I am in the process of cleaning up the article and may have to merge, redirect, blank(temporarily), etc. Be patient !!! I will get it done eventually. User:Jcam 04:17, 23 May 2005 (UTC) == Hi there == Hi James, Good to see an enthusiastic new editor, but if you blank out a page for longer than a couple of minutes, someone will likely revert you thinking you're a vandal. If you're trying to rewrite sections of an article, best to do it at your sandbox (make one by adding /sandbox to the URL when you are at your userpage, or use this link! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Jcam/sandbox), or offline until you are ready to upload the finished article. If any of your large edits are likely to be controversial with other users, it might be an idea to talk it over on the talk page before making major changes. In the meantime, have lots of fun around here! User:PaulHammond 00:49, May 27, 2005 (UTC) ==High school article== Sure! Take anything you want. Thanks for the feedback! User:TheCustomOfLife 23:53, May 29, 2005 (UTC) Jcam''This user has Wikipedia:Vandalism his own user page. Please report him to the nearest Wikipedia:Vandalism in progress.'' Well, I've been here since May 20th, 2005, a day which will live in wikinfamy. I've learned a lot in the 150 (or so) edits I've done. So I decided to revamp my user page a little bit more. If it appears I've messed it up, please feel free to post any suggestions to my User talk:Jcam. Better yet, I know some of you are a bit more skilled at editing than I am, so I issue a challenge- from what I've read in a few places around this site, it is considered taboo and improper (as a general rule) to mess with someone's user page. I am giving permission to anyone who wants to change around my user page and make it nicer- go for it. If you think I have things in the wrong order- change it around. If you know of a nice graph whcih would make a nice addition- indulge. Just be nice and make it nicer. Blanking the page or "Jcam is gay" would, in my opinion, violate the make it nicer rule, and I will laugh a most boisterous laugh as the Wikipedia:administrators throw you in wiki-prison. ==Everything you never wanted to know about me== * I have 2 middle names- Charles Antonio. * I have lived all of my life in the coastal plain state of Florida. * Decided I was sick of Florida especially after 2004 Atlantic Hurricane Season we had in 2004 so embarked on a 30 state/30 day (and 2 Canadian provinces) 12,000 mile road trip in October 2005. * Fell in love with Colorado so decided I would eventually move there, but returned to Florida to vote and got homesick so stayed until May of this year. * Have relocated to Denver, Colorado. * Even though I hate hurricanes, ironically, I am a huge University of Miami fan- both American football and baseball. I have a tattoo of List of U.S. college mascots on my right upper arm. * I plan on running for President of the United States someday, although I am a hardcore independant. and don't know if the American public would support a third party candidate who doesn't have a famous name (Jessie Ventura, Ross Perot ). Some have called me a Libertarian, but true libertarianism doesn't work in the real world. I am in favor of ending the stupid drug war, against the death penalty, and am very laissez faire (keep the government out of my wallet !!!) Please, don't get me started on abortion ... ==Where my edits tend to be== * Geography- Whether it be cities, states, mountains- if it's on a map and I can add more info to it- i will. * Obscure people- Some would say all the good biographies have been written, but I disagree. There are plenty of interesting, famous people who have done great (or stupid) things who still don't have an article. * Old, obsolete (some would say classic) computers. I've seen a lot of articles written about the old days of computing, especially the 8-bit computers, in which some of the facts are somewhat off, some important facts missing, or just plain wrong information presented. I know these old computers... I used to walk to school uphill(both ways) in the snow barefoot with a TRS-80 Model 4 strapped to my back. * American football- it seems there is little to say on wikipedia about America's true religion. A lot of important players have no articles. Some of the articles on rules & strategies are not as well written as they should be- not that I am criticizing those who authored/edited them-Some areas of interest on wikipedia are well written because everyone edits them. American football seems to be an area where few editors work on. I hope to fill the gap. * Politics, that other great American religion. (If we legally made politics a religion, could we throw out all our elected officials for violating the 1st Amendment? )Politics is tricky editing because it's nearly impossible to make things NPOV. I do hate seeing edits where I see things like "the people on the west side are liberal, while the people on the east side are right-wing", to me this is POV- use liberal/conservative or alternately left-wing/right-wing. ==Articles I've created== ===People=== * Marlin Briscoe- The first ''starting'' African-American quarterback. * Ron Fraser- Legendary University of Miami baseball coach. Truly a great man and a nice guy. * Buster Rhymes- My father was a teacher at Miami Northwestern High School in Liberty City which was a "football factory" for NCAA and NFL teams. He would take me to their football games and I would see many players who would eventually make it big. ''' George 'Buster' Rhymes''' was a star at Northwestern High, at the University of Oklahoma, and eventually got in trouble in the NFL and with the law. But he was a character and inspired Trevor Smith, Jr. to change his stage name to Busta Rhymes. Buster Rhymes was originally a redirect to Busta Rhymes, but I set the record straight. Yes, Virginia, there is a ''Buster'' Rhymes. * Onterrio Smith- see the Whizzinator under ''Things'' * Jacob Summerlin- How could there not be an article on the King of the Crackers ? I saved User:Jimbo Wales the embarassment of having his home picketed by angry NASCAR dads. And for that, I deserve a case of barnstars or something. ===Places=== * Florida State Road 60- One of the Major state roads. * Florida State Road 570- The ''Polk Parkway''. ===Things=== * The Original Whizzinator- Admittedly, creating this article was not my best wiki-moment. But when the aforementioned Onterrio Smith was detained at an airport with it (along with dried urine samples), the whizzinator went from being an order-over-the-internet fake penis (available in white, black, tan, and latino!!!) for beating a drug test to being a news item worthy of a wikipedia article. ==Special Projects== * I've taken upon myself to do the cleanup for American football strategy. It's a real mess, but I hope to have it in shape within a week. There are articles in need of merging, charts which need organizing, etc. I've worked on offense and am almost done. Maybe some of you football fans can help me with defense ? Make that 2 weeks. * I have lived all over the state of Florida, but for some reason, Bartow, Florida has a special place in my heart. OK, so I'm lieing, but seriously, I've made it my goal to take this mutha to feature article status and have seen at least one example of a small city (Marshall, Texas ) which has been featured. Bartow's not a big town, but it's got a colorful history, interesting buildings, and (for the relatively boring, flat state of Florida) a beautiful setting. Still much work to do...
