Or, maybe you didn't provide the data, and just turned it into a chart (I didn't check the whole history). Anyway, whoever came up with the data mistook matriculants for acceptances. If you divide those who matriculate into those who applied, you get a meaningless figure. If you divide acceptnaces into applications, you get the "selectivity rate" and if you divide "matriculants" into "acceptances" you get the matriculation rate. Below is the US News and World Report Link. As you can see, it doesn't agree with the numbers currently being cited, and it also places Yale squarely in tenth place overall, if you include the military academies, Juilliard, etc. http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/college/rankings/brief/webex/lowacc_brief.php I have removed the selectivity chart from the Yale University page, but please feel free to use the data available at the US News site to create a new table.
