KBHK



KBHK (Channel 44) is Viacom's UPN-owned and operated television station based in San Francisco, California. It is co-owned with fellow UPN station KMAX-TV (Channel 31), in the neighboring Sacramento, California market, as well as CBS stations KPIX (Channel 5, San Francisco) and KOVR (Channel 13, Sacramento). With its transmitter on the Sutro Tower, the station is known on the air as "UPN Bay Area, Cable 12" ==History== KBHK was been on the air since January 2, 1968, making it one of the oldest UHF stations in the San Francisco Bay area. It was originally owned by Kaiser Broadcasting, which owned other UHF stations in Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston, and Cleveland. Kaiser later merged with Chicago's Field Communications in 1973. The station was later sold to Chris-Craft Industries.
