As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 260. == Geography == Keams Canyon is located at 35°48'46" North, 110°12'15" West (35.812849, -110.204154). According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 24.0 square kilometer (9.3 square mile). 24.0 km² (9.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water. == Demographics == As of the census of 2000, there are 260 people, 74 households, and 44 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 10.8/km² (28.0/mi²). There are 106 housing units at an average density of 4.4/km² (11.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 7.69% Race (U.S. census), 0.38% Race (U.S. census) or Race (U.S. census), 89.62% Race (U.S. census), 0.00% Race (U.S. census), 0.00% Race (U.S. census), 0.00% from race (U.S. census), and 2.31% from two or more races. 1.92% of the population are Race (U.S. census) or Race (U.S. census) of any race. There are 74 households out of which 32.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 32.4% are Marriage living together, 20.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.2% are non-families. 33.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 0.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.56. In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 35.8% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 3.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 124.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 135.7 males. The median income for a household in the CDP is $35,694, and the median income for a family is $36,111. Males have a median income of $28,889 versus $35,272 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $14,619. 23.4% of the population and 10.5% of families are below the poverty line.
