Kearney is a city located in Buffalo County, Nebraska. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 27,431. It is the county seat of Buffalo County, Nebraska. It is the location of University of Nebraska-Kearney. Kearney is also the location of the Museum of Nebraska Art, home of the state's official art collection.
