Kfar EtzionKfar Etzion is a kibbutz located in the Judean Hills between Jerusalem and Hebron. Originally settled as Migdal Eder in 1927 by Yemenite immigrants, it was abandoned in 1929 as a result of Arab riots in the area. It was resettled in 1934, but had to be abandoned again in 1939 as a result of violence then. In 1943 Kfar Etzion was settled for the third time as part of the Gush Etzion. Subject to attacks and sieges, it was the site of a major battle between Israeli and Jordanian forces in 1947, it suffered a Kfar Etzion massacre and was eventually abandoned. After the Six-Day War, previous residents of Kfar Etzion moved back and built new houses in the former community.
