OTE

OTE is the national telecom provider of Greece. Standing for Hellenic Telecommunication Organization(Οργανισμός Τηλεπικοινωνιών Ελλάδος), OTE is the goverment-owned telecommunications carrier of Greece. Up to 1998, the telecommunications market in Greece was a monopoly. The market was opened to competitors and OTE was partially privatized (10% of the stock is owned by the French telecomunciations giant ). OTE still remains a virtual monopoly, because of it's previous role as the primary provider of telecommunication services in Greece. The company covers the whole country with digital PSTN and Integrated Services Digital Network telephone lines and also offers Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line in all urban areas. OTE is a group of companies owning an Internet service provider (Otenet), a mobile phone combany (Cosmote) and many other companies including OTE International Investements which in its turn owns lots of telcos in Armenia and in the Balkans (Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia, Serbia etc.). Ote

Ote or Oda von Haldensleben (before 978-1023) was the daughter of the Margrave or count of the North March Theoderich or Dietrich. According to most accounts she was a nun who was abducted from the monastery of Kolbe by Mieszko I. In a note in a church document of c1080, the names of Oda and her sons by the duke, who is named as Dagome, may be found. Dagome (usually called Mieszko I) was ruler of the Polanen tribe. This note was a brief summary, written 80 years later, based a document known as Dagome Iudex. Some contest the existence of this document This reference to the Dagome Iudex is considered by Poles to be the one of the first legal documents of the state of Poland under the Piasts. The papal reference to the Dagome Iudex mentions Dagome and Oda von Haldensleben and her husband Dagome and their sons only. It specifically does not mention Mieszko's previous son Boleslaw I. For a suggested explanation of this, see the article on the Dagome Iudex. Polish history

Ote

Is the Dagome in Dagome Iduex Mieszko, or not? 1) remember, this is not the original document, but the abstract. Therefore, dagome may be mangled version of whatever other word. What's the shinesghe for example? 2) "Mieszko" was Piast dynastical name. No other person ever bear that name. Other names choosen for Piastas included "Lambert". Why the name Mieszko and Lambert for mythical Dagome sons? 3) Thietmar mentioned that Mieszko divided his realm between sons and that later Boleslav united it again agfter his father death.
